Appalachian LCC 2013 Annual Report
-
As an integral part of the National Landscape Conservation Cooperative (LCC) Network, the Appalachian LCC is transforming the landscape conservation vision into action. The Appalachian LCC has taken great strides this year in serving as the catalyst for a collaborative network, assembling foundational data and information; providing decision support tools and products; supporting outreach, capacity, and enhancing the visibility of conservation actors; and staying relevant and evaluating progress. This report highlights these key achievements taking place across the broader Appalachian region and National LCC Network.

Appalachian LCC - First Annual Report 2011
-
This report details the formation and achievements of the Appalachian LCC in its first year. During this year, the Appalachian LCC set in place the governance and decision-making Interim Steering Committee body, identified partners and partnerships that would be critical to achieving its mission, and made a number of important decisions to set the direction and tone of the partnership. Each of these decisions is leading to progress toward the primary goal of improving the science foundation for conservation work in the Appalachians.

National LCC Website
-
The National Landscape Conservation Cooperatives (LCC) website details how all 22 LCCs collectively form a network of resource managers and scientists who share a common need for scientific information and interest in conservation. Each LCC brings together federal, state, and local governments along with Tribes and First Nations, non-governmental organizations, universities, and interested public and private organizations. Our partners work collaboratively to identify best practices, connect efforts, identify science gaps, and avoid duplication through conservation planning and design.

National LCC Project Catalog
-
The National LCC Project Catalog assembles high-level standardized information about all projects supported by all LCCs, to date and going forward, to meet the needs at the National LCC office for reporting on what's happening across the network. This catalog will allow LCCs to update the data reported to Headquarters as projects are added or updated.

Appalachian LCC Riparian Restoration in Action
-
A user-friendly tool to address management needs was funded by the Appalachian LCC to allow managers and decision-makers to rapidly identify and prioritize areas along the banks of rivers, streams, and lakes for restoration, making these ecosystems more resilient to disturbance and future changes in climate.

LCC Science Assessments and Related Documents
-
LCC Science Assessments are conducted to appraise the current spectrum of scientific knowledge surrounding shared resource priorities, and to identify and prioritize management questions and related research and technical assistance gaps and needs. They explore potential approaches for utilizing existing information, developing scientific tools, and improving the state of knowledge. LCC Science Assessments identify common needs for science among the various partners and partnerships to meet their conservation priorities and goals, and are developed in coordination with Climate Science Centers.

National LCC Council
-
The LCC National Council will serve the LCC network by learning from them and helping to identify the ecological and institutional challenges faced by the LCCs that should be addressed at the national scale. Serving as the national voice for the LCC network, the Council will seek to support changes that can be made at the national level to facilitate the work of the LCCs. The Council will provide a platform for highlighting LCC successes and challenges. Sustained funding is needed for the LCC network, and the Council will work to ensure that local and regional partnership efforts are supported at the highest levels.
