Angela Watland is a Conservation Planner at the Virginia Chapter of The Nature Conservancy. She has extensive experience working with the coal industry and state and federal regulators in southwestern Virginia to improve conditions for the biological resources of the Clinch-Powell basin. Angela has developed multiple tools to prioritize conservation zones for aquatic resources, and has assisted the Virginia Department of Mines, Minerals and Energy in the creation of a process for optimally allocating funds to abandoned mined-land clean up.
