SC Meeting, August 24-25, 2016

This meeting marked the LCCs transition from its 1st “development” phase (2012-2016) to a new “delivery” phase. We are soliciting partner input regarding how best to deliver the science to the partners. The Appalachian LCC is currently proposing to work through partner networks in focal areas to get the science integrated into on-the-ground conservation.

This meeting also provided an opportunity to evaluate the progress and success of the Appalachian LCC, and will help inform the allocation of time and financial resources over the next years.  Participants will create a high-level framework (“strawdog”) that will frame the next 5-Year Work Plan to successfully get the emerging landscape-level conservation science on-the-ground.

Handouts given to participants prior to the meeting:

Workshop Guidance:  The workshop was organized into two groupings based on Partner feedback from the August survey: (1) Partnership & Strategic Planning, and (2) Science & LCD.
