This meeting will review progress on the initial landscape planning results for a subset of priority species conducted by Clemson University in order to meet the Steering Committee objective to designate the official “Priority Resource” list for the AppLCC. This list will be based on modeling results and will be eventually integrated into a conservation planning analysis for areas representing:
- high conservation value areas (HCVA or “No Regret” areas),major terrestrial patterns of connectivity,
- focal analysis of high regional areas of biodiversity and endemism (building out from the Upper Tennessee River Basin (UTRB) landscape);
- predictive model results of future energy development,
- reflection on major prioritization by the states and federal resource management partners (e.g., SWAP revisions, UTRB Strategy, etc.), and
- major human and environmental threats as well as cultural and environmental services or benefits.
