Maryland Statewide Land Conservation Conference

This year’s Maryland Land Conservation Conference, The Challenge of Perpetuity, will address the many challenges facing land conservationists throughout the State. Peter Forbes, writer, photographer, farmer, conservationist and highly-acclaimed inspirational speaker, will provide the keynote address and a follow up workshop.

Forbes is sure to inspire all those who work to connect people with the places they live. As cofounder and senior advisor of the Center for Whole Communities in Vermont, he is well-known for his ability to bring together a wide circle of participants, and build bridges between sectors, coalitions and organizations. He has worked to nurture a new land movement that integrates land health, social justice and human spirit. Forbes has earned a national reputation as being a champion of a new brand of community-based conservation where the health of the people and the health of the land are viewed as equal.

The conference will provide training and workshops on a variety of topics of interest to land conservationists, land trust staff and board members, government agencies and elected officials.Registration includes breakfast, lunch and a full day of educational sessions. The deadline to register is April 22.
