Steering Committee Work Groups Developing Major Goals and Objectives of Next 5-Year Work Plan

The Appalachian LCC community has identified and refined the major goals the Cooperative will work towards in the coming years, based on in-depth survey responses and focused discussions during workshop sessions at our most recent Steering Committee meeting in August.

Now to further polish these goals and identify the key objectives and specific actions that will achieve them, two Work Groups comprised of Steering Committee members and dedicated researchers and managers across our geography have been organized. These groups will help to finalize goals around delivering data, tools, and Landscape Conservation Design to partners, solidifying and expanding the partnership, and enhancing the financial foundation of the LCC and capacity of its membership in the coming five years.

Each group is hosting a series of calls over the next six months to produce a working draft of the next Work Plan. At the end of six months, the materials from each of the groups will be combined and finalized for formal adoption at the next annual Steering Committee meeting in the spring. The expectation is that the Appalachian LCC will have its next 5-Year Work Plan by the Summer of 2017.
