Regarding major habitat restoration efforts across large areas of the AppLCC geography -- the Central Appalachian Spruce Restoration Initiative. This annual report is for the Northern portion of the range. A similar Initiative has begun in the Southern extent of the range through the TNC TN Chapter. The Southern Range Spruce distribution is more of a "sky island" distribution.
Section B, Goal 4 - 5-Year Work Plan
Goal 4 focuses mainly on the role of the Steering Committee to help advance the Work Plan. "Goal 4: Assess and align conservation goals and actions that reflect our cooperative members’ common and shared vision"

The Appalachian LCC Interim Steering Committee held a conference call on December 14 to discuss the finalization of the 5-Year Work Plan, the Central Hardwoods Joint Venture proposal to revise boundary lines, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Surrogate Species Workshops, and the National LCC Coordinators Meeting.
